  • Produced 140+ articles for the Rocky Mountain Collegian focused on renewable energy advancement, local politics and protests, local visual and performing artists and various impactful individuals.

  • Interviewed people ranging from a former American Physical Society President, federal officials, professors, university leaders, local politicians, corporate professionals, students and homeless people. 

  • Translated science to non professionals through CSU’s PR source SOURCE Magazine and Telluride Inside and Out.

PUBLIC RELATIONS EXPERIENCE

TRIVIA HOST AND SALES REPRESENTATIVE, AMERICAS PUB QUIZ, LOCAL ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY

August 2022 - Current

  • Host 3-4 trivia shows a week at various locations, which included set up and tear down, asking questions, and engaging with the audience during the two-hour show and afterward. Work with multiple sound systems and a mixer board.

  • Grew individual followings at each show, with the largest being from two teams (~10 people total) to 15 teams (full bar).

  • Improved stage presence, public speaking and interpersonal skills, and gained sales experience (sold 2 new shows).

PR REPRESENTATIVE, COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY’S AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY AFFILIATED STUDENT CHAPTER

September 2016 - June 2020

  • Expanded online presence by restarting Facebook, creating Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube accounts.

  • Increased the organization's membership with social media from 6 to 40+ people and kept the community informed.

  • Created content with Canva, photography, and videography with a post frequency of 2-4+ times/week.

  • Built organization's website to improve user experience by reorganizing info and embedding content.

  • Chapter gained highest student chapter award from the American Chemical Society for 2019-2020 year

  • Selected to attend 3 Spring Annual ACS national meetings because of high participation.

I spent three years inside the newsroom of the Rocky Mountain Collegian as a journalist, photojournalist, and copy editor, as well as contributing to SOURCE Magazine and Telluride Inside and Out.  I produced 140+ articles for the Collegian,  with beats ranging from renewable energy advancement, local politics, and science communication to performing artists and various impactful individuals. I got to interview people ranging from a former American Physical Society President, federal officials, professors, university leaders, local politicians, corporate professionals, students, and people experiencing homelessness.

SCIENTIFIC WRITING

During my time at the student paper, I brought science to the newsroom. While learning chemistry, I also learned that a good scientist is always able to break down concepts to their most fundamental level.
